With Memorial Day less than a week away (seriously, where did the month of May go?!), it’s time to start ironing out your three-day weekend holiday plans. Luckily, there’s still time to plan a fun Memorial Day party for your family, friends, and neighbors — with a little bit of help from our tips and ideas, of course! Read on and start planning your own Memorial Day bash!

Memorial Day Party Decor:
- First and foremost, Memorial Day is all about remembering the men and women who died while serving the US armed forces. It’s also a great day to thank veterans or anyone who is currently serving, but what day isn’t?! Break out the stars and stripes and lots of red, white, and blue for your Memorial Day celebration. Check out our Picnic Basket party theme for some perfectly patriotic party ware.
- Besides patriotic decor, we also like to think of Memorial Day as the unofficial official start of summer. (Summer actually doesn’t begin until June 21!) Add summery touches to your party with our Lazy Days party decorations, which feature illustrated flip flops, Popsicles, bumble bees, beach balls, and other images that remind us of summer. Our Juicy Watermelon plates and napkins, which look like juicy slice of heaven, also are very summery!

- Don’t get too fussy with your Memorial Day decorations. Besides a bit of Americana, and some summer touches, we also recommend taking nature’s cue and featuring some of May’s flowers in your decor.

Memorial Day Party Food
- Grilling out is a Memorial Day must! Go with classic favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs, and corn on the cob. Also grill veggie skewers featuring onions, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, and mushrooms.
- For sides, serve picnic favorites like macaroni salad, potato salad, corn bread muffins, and a pasta salad.
- Try to serve as many summery and seasonal foods as possible. For example, the fruit skewers below not only feature summery grapes, strawberries, and blueberries, but they look a bit patriotic. Freeze them before the party for a cold treat!

- For dessert, bake a couple pies. Memorial Day favorites include strawberry, blackberry, and of course, what’s as American as apple pie?
- To drink, go with a big pitcher of iced tea and some fresh-squeezed lemonade!
