Queen for a Day
Make Mom ‘Queen for Day’ with a paper plate crown. Using a dinner-sized plate between 9 -10 inches. Draw a cross on the back of the plate in pencil and draw x in half to make 8 equal pie shapes. Carefully cut along the lines, leaving at least 1 inch not cut near the rim. Fold the points up and decorate with stickers, markers and rhinestones for a fancy crown made with love.

Lion Mother's Day CraftSource.

No Lion, Mom, We love you!
Send Mom a clever message with this cute paper plate project. Using a solid color yellow dinner sized plate, cut off the plate’s rounded rim so only the yellow center remains. Glue uncooked rotini noodles all around the edge of the plate to make the lion’s mane. Use colored construction paper and googly eyes to make the face. Attach a hand written tag that reads “No Lion, Mom, We Love You!”

Paper Napkin RosesSource.

Lovely Roses
Create a bouquet of roses that are pretty and practical. Using a square red lunch napkin, fold napkin over into a triangle shape, fold the tip of the down to the base, fold over again to make a long strip and roll the napkin into a rose shape. Fold a second napkin the same way and roll it with the first rolled napkin inside to make a big bloom. Nestle in a green napkin and place in Mom’s glass or gather a bunch up and set in a large bowl for a gorgeous centerpiece.

Paper Napkin Decoupaged JarSource.

A Pretty Vase
Using a clean jelly jar or other glass jar, apply decoupage glue on all sides. Colorful themed or solid color napkins can be cut into strips or torn into small pieces and applied to the outside of the jar. When the whole surface has been covered, apply another light layer of decoupage over napkins to seal them. This charming gift makes a lovely vase for wildflowers the kids can pick themselves.

Paper Plate Butterfly CraftSource.

Butterfly Kisses
Butterflies are so pretty, just like Mom. Make a fun butterfly craft as a Mother’s Day Gift. Using 2 solid colored dessert sized plates, cut two wing shapes from each. Hot glue the 4 wings together in the shape of a butterfly. Give the kids white glue and colorful pom poms, googly eyes and pipe cleaners to decorate a pretty gift for Mom.

Cupcake Liner FlowersSource.

A Bouquet of Flowers
Create a little bouquet of flowers for Mom using cupcake liners and pipe cleaners. For a bouquet, simply pop a pipe cleaner through the center of the cupcake liner and fold the end over so the sharp part is not visible. Use different color and sizes of liners for a pretty bouquet.

Crepe Paper Ribbon AwardSource.

Best Mom Award
Using a roll of colorful crepe streamer, make Mom an award ribbon. Bunch the crepe streamer into a tiny rosette shape, using hot glue on the center as you go. Glue a pin fastener (found at sewing or craft stores) on the back of the ribbon. Attach two streamers from the center of the rosette to make the ribbon’s tails. Cut a circle from construction paper and let the kids decorate it with a special saying for Mom. Glue the circle to the center of the ribbon.

DIY Heart Crepe StreamersSource.

Heart Garland
Crepe streamer can be cut to make an adorable heart garland. Cut a length of crepe streamer and fold it accordion style into about 2 inch sections. On the top section, trace the shape of a heart, leaving each of the heart’s sides connected (in order to keep the garland hearts together). Cut through the folded stack to cut out the heart shape. Unfold for a garland to hang over Mom’s breakfast table.

Rainbow Windsock CraftSource.

Rainbow Windsock
Kids will delight in creating an indoor rainbow windsock for Mom. Using a large sheet of white paper turned long ways, have the kids paint or draw a large rainbow. When project is dry, flip paper over and run a line of glue along the bottom edge. Attach crepe streamers in 12 inch lengths in different colors all along the bottom border. When dry, staple or glue the paper into a tube shape. Attach a ribbon or yarn for easy hanging.

Paper Plate RosesSource.

Paper Plate Rose
Create a one of kind rose for a one of a kind Mom using colorful plates. Take a round colored dinner plate and cut a spiral shape. Starting at the center, roll into a rose-shaped bloom. Tape the bloom together and add green crepe streamer for a cute accent.
Show Mom some love with homemade crafts made from party supplies and a few other craft accessories this Mother’s Day!
